I would like to thank the amazingly talented Virginia for this beautiful Kreativ-Award.I would like to pass it on to these inspirational artists who never cease to amaze me with their talent. Please visit their blogs and be inspired: Marie Liisa Cathy Sandy Sija
***I just love it when Blog Challenge Moms give a sneak peek of the challenge in the week ahead...it gives me time to mull over what I would like to create and work on it in bits and pieces between teaching and just being Mom of Rie. :) So THANK YOU for that extra bit of time!***
That said, this week's Sunday Postcard Art challenge is of the feline variety - Cats. Here's the postcard I created tonight that will likely become a Valentine card for my mom. Collage image by Lisa's Altered Art.

Deer is the Crazy Amigo challenge this week. I made an ATC using a deer image from a recycled calender. The background stamp is from Magenta. Collage word is by Collage Stuff. The Old Man's Bearded Moss was collected on one of my walks through Totem Park. A bit of glitter added some shine to the moss.

Helga has a most wonderful challenge posted to her blog, My Artistic Life, and that is to make Valentines! So I dug around a bit in my ArtChix and paper stash folders and came up with this - an altered, vintage French postcard using some lovely image from the ArtChix lavender collage sheet. I know just the friend to send this to for Valentine's Day.

Openings is the Wednesday Stamper theme this week. I decided to use one of my Through the Window ATCs I made for Altered Pages. I also have to add that Shelly's gorgeous ATC is now in my ATC collection from a recent Oxford Impressions' swap and it's AWESOME. There's actually a second side to it of a vintage woman who ponders what makes men tick. :) Thanks, Shelly!

Dahlia and Boots is my ATC for Mixed Media Monday. Great friendships exist between little girls and their kitties. It's truly a small piece in which I tried my hand at painting. Yes, the tree is mine. If the point of MMM is to 'branch out', then I've done just that. :) Happy Monday!

The Gothic Arch challenge this week is Grunge. My vintage gal is a bit cheeky (pun intended). She is from Altered Pages. Stamps used are from Inka Stamps, Jody Poesy, and PaperBag Studios. The Jody Poesy stamp is actually a Tennyson quote. It reads, "Come into the garden, Maud, For the black bat, Night, has flown, Come into the garden, Maud, I am here at the gate alone; And the woodbine spices are wafted abroad, And the musk of the roses blown."
Here's my sample for the Sunday Postcard challenge. Collage images from ArtChix and Lisa's Altered Art. Stamps from Silver Crow Creations and Tim Holtz. The best part of this piece is the background photo, one Bruce took last weekend while on a hike up Indian River Trail. He captured the mystique of a winter forest. By the way, the quote reads, "The mystical is not how the world is, but that it is" by Wittgenstein.

The Moo challenge this week is Winter Frost. I'm combining challenges and created my Moo to also fit the Wednesday Stamper challenge of Gesso. Collage image from Inkastamps. Tree branch from Time to Stamp/I Brake for Stamps, snowflakes from Hero Arts. Not only is there a thin layer of Gesso on branch and girl, but a thick line of Stickles along the bare winter branches.

I absolutely love moon themes, so I knew that when the MMM challenge rolled around, I'd be throwing something into the mix. My entry is Golden Moon Poste. It's a postcard made from watercolor paper. I colored it with Caran d'Ache crayons and Distress Crackle paints. I embossed the gold flourishes (stamp from Quietfire Design). I cut out a little star from old German text and added all sorts of ephemera. The collage image is from Altered Pages.

Last week's Created Byhand challenge was to use chalks. It gave me the perfect opportunity to break open the new box of lovely chalks Barb sent me for Christmas and try them out. Here's the end result. Stamps from Time to Stamp/I Brake for Stamps, Oxford, Quietfire, Art by Moonlight. Collage image from Collagevisions. This also meets the challenge for One Powerful Hour whose challenge this week was to return to some early stamps/stamping methods. Not only was I able to dabble again with chalk (something I've not done in many years!), but I used an old ABM image in this composition. ABM was my first jump into the land of unmounted stamps. Finally, I was able to complete this card (and clean up!) within the timeframe of one hour.
