Circles is the theme at Sunday Postcard Art this week. I worked on this card with this morning's coffee and had some help from Silver Crow Creations, Inkastamps, Ma Vinci's and Hero Arts.

Colonial Brand Fairy

Silver, blue and purple are the colors for the day as I blog for art's sake with this one.

I would like to thank the amazingly talented Virginia for this beautiful Kreativ-Award.I would like to pass it on to these inspirational artists who never cease to amaze me with their talent. Please visit their blogs and be inspired: Marie Liisa Cathy Sandy Sija

***I just love it when Blog Challenge Moms give a sneak peek of the challenge in the week gives me time to mull over what I would like to create and work on it in bits and pieces between teaching and just being Mom of Rie. :) So THANK YOU for that extra bit of time!***

That said, this week's Sunday Postcard Art challenge is of the feline variety - Cats. Here's the postcard I created tonight that will likely become a Valentine card for my mom. Collage image by Lisa's Altered Art.

Liisa's Row House Swap

Here are my little houses, about to be bundled up and mailed off over the sea to Paris. Each house is somehow supposed to represent the artist, so I tried to incorporate things I love in each card, both obvious and not-so-obvious.

The Moo challenge this week is to include a building. What lovelier image to build around than the Eiffel Tower? Collage image by Collagevisions.

Fairy Doll

Doll is the Dans ma Maison challenge this week. My 3-year-old daughter is really into fairies these days, so this little fairy is about as close as I can get to a doll.

Valentine Wishes

The Theme Thursday challenge has us working with a new size of art - 2x4 inches! Perfect for bookmarks.

Here's an altered library card with a bit of lace trim at the bottom for this week's Wednesday Stamper challenge.

Window is the One Powerful Hour challenge this week. Decided to post one of my Through the Window ATCs I made for Altered Pages.

Deer is the Crazy Amigo challenge this week. I made an ATC using a deer image from a recycled calender. The background stamp is from Magenta. Collage word is by Collage Stuff. The Old Man's Bearded Moss was collected on one of my walks through Totem Park. A bit of glitter added some shine to the moss.

Make Valentines!

Helga has a most wonderful challenge posted to her blog, My Artistic Life, and that is to make Valentines! So I dug around a bit in my ArtChix and paper stash folders and came up with this - an altered, vintage French postcard using some lovely image from the ArtChix lavender collage sheet. I know just the friend to send this to for Valentine's Day.

Heart is the Created Byhand challenge this week. Flourish stamp and Bingo card by Quietfire Design. Collage image by Collagevisions.

Three Times Lucky

This is a 4x4 using an image from the new St. Patty's Day collage images by Collagevisions. The MMM challenge this week is primary/secondary colors, so I figure this might meet just that challenge.

Oxford Valentine ATC Swap

Here are the Valentine ATCs I made for the Oxford Valentine Swap.

Queen for a Day

The TMTA challenge this week is Queen for a Day.

The Sunday Postcard Art challenge this week is Turquoise. What better combination than turquoise and orange on this gray and blustery day.

The Gothic Arch challenge this week is Gypsy. Folk singer John Gorka's lyrics, "You might like the gypsy life..." played on in my mind as I worked on this one over Saturday morning coffee today.

Valentine Fairy

This weekend I'm working on the Valentine ATC swap through Oxford Impressions. Here's my Valentine fairy.

Happy Valentine's Day with Collagevisions!

I had some time tonight to play with Kelly's new Valentine sheets (Collagevisions) and they are gorgeous! Here are a few ATCs I put together. Couples is also the Theme Thursday challenge this week and I have at least a couple of these that speak to that!

Through the Window

Openings is the Wednesday Stamper theme this week. I decided to use one of my Through the Window ATCs I made for Altered Pages. I also have to add that Shelly's gorgeous ATC is now in my ATC collection from a recent Oxford Impressions' swap and it's AWESOME. There's actually a second side to it of a vintage woman who ponders what makes men tick. :) Thanks, Shelly!

The Created Byhand challenge is the word Love. Here's my 4x4.

Dahlia and Boots is my ATC for Mixed Media Monday. Great friendships exist between little girls and their kitties. It's truly a small piece in which I tried my hand at painting. Yes, the tree is mine. If the point of MMM is to 'branch out', then I've done just that. :) Happy Monday!

The Gothic Arch challenge this week is Grunge. My vintage gal is a bit cheeky (pun intended). She is from Altered Pages. Stamps used are from Inka Stamps, Jody Poesy, and PaperBag Studios.Add Image The Jody Poesy stamp is actually a Tennyson quote. It reads, "Come into the garden, Maud, For the black bat, Night, has flown, Come into the garden, Maud, I am here at the gate alone; And the woodbine spices are wafted abroad, And the musk of the roses blown."

Mystical Winter

Here's my sample for the Sunday Postcard challenge. Collage images from ArtChix and Lisa's Altered Art. Stamps from Silver Crow Creations and Tim Holtz. The best part of this piece is the background photo, one Bruce took last weekend while on a hike up Indian River Trail. He captured the mystique of a winter forest. By the way, the quote reads, "The mystical is not how the world is, but that it is" by Wittgenstein.

Winter Frost

The Moo challenge this week is Winter Frost. I'm combining challenges and created my Moo to also fit the Wednesday Stamper challenge of Gesso. Collage image from Inkastamps. Tree branch from Time to Stamp/I Brake for Stamps, snowflakes from Hero Arts. Not only is there a thin layer of Gesso on branch and girl, but a thick line of Stickles along the bare winter branches.

Vintage Valentine is the theme for Theme Thursday this week. Be sure to head over and check out all the lovely heart art!

Moon Poste

I absolutely love moon themes, so I knew that when the MMM challenge rolled around, I'd be throwing something into the mix. My entry is Golden Moon Poste. It's a postcard made from watercolor paper. I colored it with Caran d'Ache crayons and Distress Crackle paints. I embossed the gold flourishes (stamp from Quietfire Design). I cut out a little star from old German text and added all sorts of ephemera. The collage image is from Altered Pages.

Favorite Materials

Stamps and ink, collage images, found items as ephemera are my favorite things to work with...and glitter! :) This is my entry for the Crazy Amigo challenge this week.

Here's my ATC for the flourish challenge at Created Byhand.

Celebrate Snow!

At this moment we have oodles of snow on the ground, so this postcard is quite fitting for the Sunday Postcard Art challenge of Celebration. All stamped images from Oxford Impressions.

Collage image from Collagevisions.

Last week's Created Byhand challenge was to use chalks. It gave me the perfect opportunity to break open the new box of lovely chalks Barb sent me for Christmas and try them out. Here's the end result. Stamps from Time to Stamp/I Brake for Stamps, Oxford, Quietfire, Art by Moonlight. Collage image from Collagevisions. This also meets the challenge for One Powerful Hour whose challenge this week was to return to some early stamps/stamping methods. Not only was I able to dabble again with chalk (something I've not done in many years!), but I used an old ABM image in this composition. ABM was my first jump into the land of unmounted stamps. Finally, I was able to complete this card (and clean up!) within the timeframe of one hour.

Alpha Stamps Giveaways! :)

Alpha Stamps has been running a giveaway contest this week - lots of great prizes. January 4th is the final day to try your luck, so be sure to check it out!

2009 has hatched and I found this to be an amusing image for this week's Gothic Arch challenge, Celebrate. Collage images from Lisa's Altered Art. Happy New Year!

Inspire House

The Dans ma Maison challenge this week is Blanc. I used lots of white/ecru/cream for this one, but the lovely collage baby from Collagevisions is what pulled it all together.
