Gothic Arch: Garden Fairy

Debby picked a great theme this week for the Gothic Arch challenge. Garden fairies are often viewed in fairy gazing balls - here's an image I captured one spring day in its reflection.

Somerset Challenge: House

The Altered Gypsies thought it fun to pick two challenges for each publication of Somerset Studio. The creation of a small house was one of our spring challenges and here are some photos of what I put together this weekend. What began as an arrow challenge for Wednesday Stamper evolved into a a house with four walls and a roof. Poor Bruce isn't quite sure what to think about this whimsical creation, but I'm happy with the end results.

The quote on the feather side reads, "No one comes from the earth like grass, we come like trees, we all have roots."

Honor Your Mother: Happy Earth Day and Garden Fairy

I actually made this with Earth Day in mind, but it is also very appropriate for this week's Gothic Arch challenge, hosted by Debby who does such amazing art. Enjoy!

We'll Always Have Paris

This week's Gothic Arch challenge is "We'll Always Have Paris". One trip to this mystical city will give you the chance to collect enough memories to last a lifetime. If you get to visit more than once, than you are truly lucky. I added a quote to the back of my arch, "Map out a course of action and follow it to an end". If you haven't yet visited Paris, what's stopping you? Get your ticket and go!

Serendipitous Mermaid

I couldn't resist creating another maid of the sea arch for this week's Gothic Arch challenge, By the Sea. The lovely Siren is by ArtChix.

The Arrow Points North

Here's my Wednesday Stamper challenge - the theme is Arrow. I used an arrow shaped chipboard as my backdrop. Stamped the background with flourish and scrap images. Added word, Journey, and called it good with a collage clip from Lisa's Altered Art.

Near the Sea

This week's Gothic Arch theme is the Sea. My stamp room has a good vantage point of the sea, so it was fun to work on this mermaid piece throughout the day. Mermaid is an ArtChix siren, background stamps by Inka Stamps and Time to Stamp.

Spring Greenery

My calendar deems it spring, but Persephone has yet to make her arrival complete; in other words, she must have forgotten the sun and the green. Maybe her luggage got lost? This week's Wednesday Stamper theme includes trees. I wish the unfolding of my spring trees could be as dramatic this time of year. I've been waiting all winter to try out this new budding tree image.
